I am a retired Associate Specialist in Emergency Medicine in Worcester, having worked in EM since 1989. My interest in Anorexia Nervosa developed as a result of my daughter having this illness, one which I knew very little about. I soon realised that very little is taught about eating disorders both in the undergraduate curriculum and the post-graduate curriculum, resulting in them being poorly understood by most clinicians who aren't eating disorder specialists. . I run RCEM Study Days on Eating Disorders, and am a member of the working group updating the Marsipan Guidelines. I also provide webinars for interested groups/departments.
