Dr Threapleton’s clinical interests involve working with patients and healthcare professionals to manage complex health needs, including polypharmacy, multimorbidity and frailty. He was instrumental in setting up the new Polypharmacy Service at St George’s Hospital. He is currently undertaking a PhD to assess how clinical pharmacologists could contribute to the management of polypharmacy. He is an active member of the British Pharmacological Society, where he is the Chair of the national Registrar Sub-Committee, responsible for shaping the training of and recruitment to Clinical Pharmacology as a medical specialty.
