Hiring critical care consultants in New Zealand

The Health New Zealand Recruitment Team is heading to London, and we'd love to meet you in person!

We understand that making the decision to embark on a new career path while relocating to a different country can be a significant and life-changing step. That's why we're here to offer you unparalleled support and answer any questions you may have about opportunities in critical care/ intensive care in New Zealand.

Our team (which includes a Senior ICU Consultant and Recruitment Advisors), will be available for face-to-face meetings on 1-2 October 2024 at the Anaesthesia & Critical Care conference, ExCel, London.

About you

We welcome enthusiastic and committed ICU Consultants from varied backgrounds.

  • You will need to have, or be eligible to be awarded, vocational registration with the New Zealand Medical Council in intensive care medicine and/or your other specialty. To be considered for these roles, it is essential that you hold post-graduate training and qualification in adult intensive care medicine (FCICM or equivalent) as well as in your other specialist field.
  • You will have eligibility for general or provisional general registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand. Information on the process of application for this can be found on their website at http://www.mcnz.org.nz/
  • Hold the FCICM qualification or international equivalent. Beneficial but not necessarily required.
  • You will need to have an appropriate visa to be eligible to live and work in NZ. We support candidates through this process as we have our own immigration team here at Health NZ.
  • New Zealand has a relatively straightforward immigration process for skilled workers, making it easier for professionals to move and work there. The Immigration NZ website can be found at https://www.immigration.govt.nz/new-zealand-visas
  • Dual trained anaesthetist – intensivist

Here's what we can offer you:

  • Relocation support to make your transition smoother may be available in some locations.
  • A dedicated recruitment team at your disposal to guide you through the process.
  • A chance to be a part of a thriving healthcare community in beautiful New Zealand.
  • Competitive salary
