Recognising and managing motor & non-motor fluctuations in PD patients in an acute setting

10 Nov 2021
AGM Theatre 3

As the therapeutic window narrows in Parkinson’s disease the likelihood of motor and non-motor fluctuations increases. While the motor fluctuations provide challenge to the visible movement aspects of Parkinson’s, it is important to recognise the non-motor features too, as these can often cause the patient’s quality of life to significantly worsen and are often overlooked. Assessment, recognition and the fine balance of medication to manage these will be discussed using illustrative cases.
