Literature suggests that up to 1/3rd of hospital in-patients are in their final 12 months of life. In this session we will consider what constitutes a palliative care emergency, how to manage common presentations (latest evidence and guidelines), and why some models of care may not be optimal, exploring opportunities for more bespoke patient care.
