AGM: Not the traditional conference

Two-thirds of delegates are considering changing their prescribing practices based on conversations they had at the 2012 show

AGM is not a typical, over-priced, didactic conference, in which weary delegates get locked into endless lectures. Our programme allows doctors to follow their learning needs across the medical specialties with pacey, interactive seminars, uniquely offering knowledge AND skills training in acute AND general medicine. An “all you can eat” modular format allows delegates to customise their own programme ensuring they spend time on the floor of the show with exhibitors and sponsors. AGM 2012 saw 3131 attendees flock to this unique event to update their clinical skills and network with key suppliers.

“Overall AGM has been very useful, the range of topics have been excellent. Being able to tailor-make your own bespoke programme flexibly has been great. The variety of educational sessions available has been invaluable and it’s so important to have revalidation addressed at the same time.” Katherine Lindsay, Teaching & Research Fellow, Sherwood Forest Hospital Trust.

Neither is AGM a typical exhibition with endless rows of “me too” products and second rate content. AGM is a new type of event, part compelling conference, part essential CPD training, part intimate networking event and part commercial opportunity with a strictly limited number of sponsors and exhibitors to ensure high quality interactions between delegates and commercial participants. AGM 2012 proved this concept works.

“ID Medical found the AGM 2012 exhibition and conference to be one of the most successful events of the year. It was amazing to see so many medical professionals in the one location and we welcomed the opportunity to educate our locum doctors on the importance of revalidation and invite them to join our nationwide revalidation events.  We look forward to extending our involvement at the AGM event in 2013.” Caryn Cooper, ID Medical.

Hospitals are under budgetary pressure. Doctors are under time pressure. The entire secondary care sector is under  pressure to deliver better outcomes at lower cost. All of this means that both the budget to fund training, and the time available to clinicians to do it, are at a premium.

That’s why AGM offers two days of the highest quality training, delivered by leading experts across the medical  specialties for practically nothing.

It’s a ground-breaking new model that guarantees an unusually large physician audience offering both cost and time efficiency to hardpressed doctors. And these clinicians - from core medical trainees to consultants, from diabetologists and gastroenterologists to respiratory specialists and geriatricians - are the big decision-makers within hospital medicine.

Precisely because it is such a fresh and different proposition, AGM is also an unusual commercial opportunity for  suppliers like you, offering high value face-to-face interactions with a large group of senior clinical decision-makers in a relaxed and constructive environment. But the opportunities to participate are strictly limited - they have to be to ensure the right mix for our delegates.
