Soma Banerjee is a Consultant Physician and Specialist in Stroke Medicine at Charing Cross Hospital, Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, where she is the Head of Department. Her clinical practice involves all aspects of the Hyper-acute treatment of stroke through to early rehabilitation. She obtained her MD research degree in 2013, and was part of the Imperial College team that completed the UK’s first stem cell trial for acute stroke patients. She is joint lead of the Imperial Stroke Thrombectomy group, and is currently London Thrombectomy Lead, involved in collaborative working towards providing 24/7 thrombectomy cover for patients across the London region. She is also ED&I lead for the British & Irish Association of Stroke Physicians (BIASP)
