Intensive Care Medicine Specialty Registrar and Clinical Research Fellow, The Royal London Hospital, Barts Health NHS Trust
Dr Luke Flower is an Intensive Care Medicine Trainee and an Honorary Clinical Research Fellow in Critical Care Medicine at Queen Mary University of London. He is also an Associate Editor for the Journal of the Intensive Care Society, Co-Chair of the Trainee Research in Intensive Care Network, and an Elected Member of the Association of Anaesthetists Trainee Committee. His research interests include critical illness associated immune dysfunction, point-of-care ultrasound, and LGBTQ+ healthcare. He is an enthusiastic ultrasound educator and is the Lead Editor of the textbook ‘Point-of-Care Ultrasound in Critical Care’. He is also passionate about improving LGBTQ+ healthcare and over the past three years has worked alongside the Intensive Care Society and the Association of Anaesthetists to better the experiences of LGBTQ+ staff and patients in the UK. During this time, he has developed a national education series for critical care clinicians, published several articles on the subject and was awarded the Intensive Care Society’s ICU People Champion Award for his work.
