Dr Amelia Gelson-Thomas works as a Senior House Officer in General Medicine, interested in pursuing a career in Dermatology. She completed her Foundation Programme at Somerset Foundation Trust. Here, she and two colleagues identified a critical gap in medical practice – the absence of debriefing post-cardiac arrest incidents. To combat the impact of these on the well-being of peers, they developed a project to implement a culture of debriefing. In addition to this impactful work, she took further steps to enhance well-being by establishing the ‘Midweek Masterclass’ teaching series, tailored to provide invaluable guidance and practical advice for junior doctors.
