Acute hospitals are facing significant challenges. Demand is rising, particularly from patients presenting at ‘the front door’, and yet funding and resources are under pressure.
It has placed all doctors involved with emergency, acute and general medicine centre stage. They’re on the frontline when it comes to reducing unnecessary admissions; improving the efficiency of triage, diagnosis and treatment; promoting patient flow and ensuring timely discharge.
Acute & General Medicine 2017 wants to support doctors to meet the challenges ahead.
Running a poster programme at the event is a step towards achieving this. It will throw light on the projects that are improving acute and advanced internal medicine services around the country, and will be shared with a wide and influential audience.
